Minnesota (06) House 2010

Crystal Ball Outlook: Likely R

Democratic candidate: Tarryl Clark, state Senator

Republican candidate: Michele Bachmann, incumbent

Recent Updates from the Crystal Ball

Background:

Republican incumbent Michele Bachmann faces a large field of challengers for her seat representing Minnesota’s 6th Congressional district. Her Democratic opponents are state Senator Tarryl Clark and physician Maureen Reed. She also faces 2008 nominee Bob Anderson, running as an independent.

Bachmann has a strongly conservative voting record in the House and she is also somewhat a polarizing figure. Bachmann has the advantages of having her party’s support, a financial edge over her opponents, and not being vulnerable as an incumbent. For these reasons, this race remains a Likely Republican hold.
