Utah

Outlook: Solid Republican

November 8, 2006 Update:

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R) won reelection over Pete Ashdown (D)with 62% of the vote.

There are some noises on the right about challenging Senator Orrin Hatch as he seeks re-nomination to a sixth term. As conservative as Hatch is, he’s not conservative enough for the far right in Utah. But, despite his friendship with Ted Kennedy, which doesn’t seem to affect his voting record, Hatch should win easily, both for the nomination and in the general election.
