Frank Atkinson

Frank Atkinson is a partner in the law firm of McGuireWoods LLP and serves as chairman of the law firm=s public affairs affiliate, McGuireWoods Consulting LLC.
Among his published books and articles are two works on modern Virginia politics – Virginia in the Vanguard (2006) and The Dynamic Dominion (1992). His public service includes chairmanship of the federal Jamestown 400th Commemoration Commission, membership on various Virginia policy boards and commissions, service as Director of Policy and Counselor to Governor George Allen, and two stints as a political appointee in the Reagan Justice Department.
As a lawyer and consultant, Atkinson counsels business and governmental entities on a range of strategic and policy issues. His practice includes public affairs, higher education, public-private partnerships, transportation and economic development, elections and voting rights, and general business law. He also has experience in commercial and constitutional litigation.
Atkinson is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Richmond with a B.A. in Political Science. He received his law degree from the University of Virginia, where he was a member of the Virginia Law Review, Order of the Coif, and Raven Society.
