Virginia Political History Project
(previously known as the Virginia Governor's Project)
2004 Virginia General Assembly Project
A continuation of the Virginia Governors Project
For the past seven years, the University of Virginia Center for Politics has examined the lives, administrations, and legacies of Virginia's recent former governors. In anticipation of the Jamestown 2007 commemoration of Virginia as the birthplace of representative government in America, this year we turned our attention to the Virginia General Assembly, the oldest continuous law-making body in the United States, and the individuals who have helped shape this ever-evolving institution.
