Join the University of Virginia Center for Politics as we discuss the role of polls and polling groups in American politics. The evening will begin with a panel discussion with some of the nation’s leading pollsters and polling groups including: Glen Bolger, partner and co-founder of Public Opinion Strategies, one of the Republican Party's leading political strategists and pollsters; Courtney Kennedy of the Pew Research Center, a nonpartisan fact tank informing the public on issues, attitudes and trends; Mark Mellman of The Mellman Group, named “Pollster of the Year” three times by the American Association of Political Consultants; and Doug Usher, founder and managing director of Purple Insights, research division of Purple Strategies reflecting the company's bipartisan blend of strategists from both "blue" and "red" political backgrounds. Following the discussion the panel will take questions from the audience.
