Michigan (07) House 2010

Crystal Ball Outlook: Leans R

Democratic candidate: Mark Schauer, incumbent

Republican candidate: Tim Walberg, former Congressman

Recent updates from the Crystal Ball

Background:

Democratic incumbent Mark Schauer is running for his second term to represent Michigan’s 7th district. His Republican challenger will be decided in an August 3rd primary, and the Republican candidates are attorney/Steelers heir Brian Rooney, former Congressman Tim Walberg, and real estate investor Marvin Carlson.

In the past, the district has favored Republican and Democratic candidates for Congress and the Presidency. Schaeuer’s congressional votes may make him a Republican target. The economy will be a very important issue in what will surely be a heated race. This race remains a Toss-Up.
