Florida (12) House 2010

Crystal Ball Outlook: Likely R

Democratic candidate: Lori Edwards, Polk County Elections Supervisor

Republican candidate: Dennis Ross, State Senator

Recent updates from the Crystal Ball

Background:

The race is on to fill the open seat for Representative of Florida’s 12th Congressional district.  The democratic candidates are Polk County Elections Supervisor Lori Edwards and 2008 nominee Doug Tudor.  The Republican candidates are former State Senator Dennis Ross and activist John Lindsey.  Polk County Commissioner Randy Wilkinson, a Tea Party candidate, has also entered the race.

The 12th District is becoming a reliable Republican district.  Dennis Ross appears to be one of the frontrunners for now and he has a financial advantage over his opponents.  Although there is some time before the August 24th primary, this race is likely Republican.
