1:41 p.m., June 2: Romney stuck with cursed frontrunner label. Has to take a thorn & make it a rose.
2:21 p.m, June 2: Romney: “Good jobs at good wages.” No, apologies, that was Dukakis ’88. Can’t keep my MA GOVs straight.
10:29 a.m., June 3: John Edwards is political toast forever. No sense piling on. But how does our system let someone like that come close to being POTUS?
11:43 a.m., June 4: RIP, Larry Eagleburger. Great Secy of State, wonderful colleague here at U.Va., true patriot, active until the end.
11:44 a.m., June 4: Eagleburger recently taught my class. Students loved him. He was blunt, whip-smart, and very, very funny. Understood world as few do.
4:07 p.m., June 6: Even when you don’t like the pol & he’s deserving of condemnation, don’t you feel sad when he completely self-destructs? I do.
4:10 p.m., June 6: Someone distributes hubris pills to many elected officials. They think they can have it all & never pay a price & lie their way thru it.
4:13 p.m., June 6: Weiner could have saved himself early on but his arrogance led him to violate all rules in the scandal-containment book.
4:24 p.m., June 6: Right now, more Democrats than Republicans would like to see Weiner resign. He’s a total distraction for Ds.
4:42 p.m., June 6: At least Weiner didn’t make his wife come out and gaze lovingly at him.
11:29 a.m., June 7: GOP just made up for the loss of NY-26. Rep. Dan Boren, only D in OK delegation, will retire in ’12. Very likely R pick-up.
11:59 a.m., June 7: Dems get good one for Boren OK seat: ex-Cong. Brad Carson. Will still be tough to win. R POTUS nominee will get 70% there. Coattails.
