9:28 AM Jul 31st: Sometimes I think when smart candidates file for office, they are issued a year’s worth of stupid pills. Would explain gaffes.

9:31 AM Jul 31st: It’ll take a lot more than a ‘no’ on Kagan to reelect Ben Nelson(D-NE) if Gov. Dave Heineman(R) runs against Nelson in ’12.

9:38 AM Jul 31st: Just because something is in the headlines (Rangel/Waters) doesn’t mean it becomes electorally significant. Economy is black hole of ’10.

10:37 AM Aug 2nd: For such an anti-establishment year, there are surprisingly few independents with any real chance to win or even affect SEN & GOV races.

10:40 AM Aug 2nd: For SEN: Only Crist (FL). For GOV: Tom Tancredo(CO), Bud Chiles(FL), Eliot Cutler(ME),Tim Cahill(MA), Tom Horner(MN), Lincoln Chafee(RI).

10:51 AM Aug 2nd: Think conspiracy theories began w/JFK? Today in 1923 Pres. Harding died in SF. Prob heart attack, but books in ’20s said ‘murder most foul’.

10:55 AM Aug 2nd: JFK got a big bio boost on this date in ’43, when PT-109 was sunk in WWII. Since Ike, only JFK & GHWBush were helped to WH by war exploits.

10:57 AM Aug 2nd: Re: Bush, 10 yrs ago today, Bush/Cheney nominated in Philly. Didn’t help in PA that fall. Most conventions don’t. Maybe Obama-Denver in ’08.

8:37 PM Aug 3rd: In case you haven’t heard…Bristol Palin has refudiated Levi Johnston once & for all.

9:12 PM Aug 3rd: MI GOV. Prob doesn’t matter much which R wins tonite. Crystal Ball has had this leaning R for full year. Rick Snyder(R) arguably strongest.

10:29 PM Aug 3rd: Moran clinging to tiny lead over Tiahrt in KS SEN R. Not only will win get seat; since WWII, elected KS SEN has served average of 21+ years.

10:31 PM Aug 3rd: Being an elected Kansas R senator is one of the safest jobs in politics.

10:42 AM Aug 4rd: TN tweeps: Why does your state law mandate THURS primary? TN Elections Div. said law is 100+ yrs old. Even pres. primary often held Thurs.

2:33 PM Aug 4rd: EVERY VOTE COUNTS. Latest proof: MI-1. Last night R primary results, Dr. Dan Benishek 27,091 to Sen. Jason Allen 27,090. 1 VOTE. Recount!
