11:04 AM Apr 16th: Bidens give far less than American family average at their income level. Oh, and we got the same weak excuse as last year: their time is $.

11:07 AM Apr 16th: Maybe Joe Biden is worried about the effect of the coming tax increases on the Biden family income.

6:09 PM Apr 17th: If you were Charlie Crist, what would you do? Chances of winning GOP nod for Senate in FL=20%. Chances of winning as Independent in Nov:=50%

6:13 PM Apr 17th: Only future Crist has in politics depends on running as I for Senate in ’10 & hoping he can eke it out. Otherwise, welcome to private sector

9:25 AM Apr 19th: New Rasmussen TX GOV poll has it closer than we’ve seen it post-primary: Rick Perry (R) 48%, Bill White (D) 44%. Two words: PERRY FATIGUE.

9:27 AM Apr 19th: Hard to believe strongly GOP Texas would vote D in a R year. Party ID will likely save Perry. But few would be shocked by an upset here.

8:01 PM Apr 19th: Looking at Supreme Court candidate lists, the most surprising thing is the absence of a prominent African-American.

8:03 PM Apr 19th: Dems have long wanted to balance Clarence Thomas. Plus Obama has been getting static from black activists about his work on A-A issues.

8:05 PM Apr 19th: Listening to the dreadful Timothy McVeigh on this awful OKC bombing anniversary, I heard an echo from the past I’d never noticed before.

8:07 PM Apr 19th: McVeigh’s smugness, his arrogance, his self-centeredness chillingly recalls the same sick traits in Lee Harvey Oswald, a fellow sociopath.

8:39 PM Apr 19th: Contrast Crist w/McCain. Crist was clueless about his vulnerability in FL GOP Senate primary, while McCain moved right to stymie J.D. in AZ.

9:53 AM Apr 20th: 1st VP to die in office, George Clinton, expired of heart attack 4/20/12.Constitution was silent on VP succession so Pr.Madison did nothing.

9:55 AM Apr 20th: It was an election year and Clinton was soon replaced by Elbridge Gerry, father of the gerrymander, for Madison’s 2nd term as POTUS.

9:58 AM Apr 20th: We didn’t get around to fixing the VP succession problem–is it a problem?–until 25th Amendment, ratified in 1967.

10:02 AM Apr 20th: Seven VPs have died in office, possibly of boredom. Two resigned (Calhoun & Agnew). By the way, Gerry died in ofice too. Madison VP disease.
