4:42 AM Aug 6th: The left and right are the same, in flooding town meetings and being obnoxious. It’s OK when their side does it, wrong when the other side does.
4:44 AM Aug 6th: Passion can be a good thing in politics, but leaders must channel it, lest it degenerate into pure rudeness and nastiness.
10:47 AM Aug 7th: Currently, I’d say the best GOP can do in ’10 is +3 Senate seats net–but that means Dems still have 57. And Senate could be a total wash.
11:18 AM Aug 7th: Sen. Schumer (D-NY) cleared the path for Sen. Gillibrand (D-NY) and essentially controls her on key votes. Chuck is no longer in Hillary’s shadow, or anyone else’s.
12:09 PM Aug 8th: There is a breathtaking arrogance to Gov. Mark Sanford’s 8/7 call for a “zone of privacy”. His wife and kids deserve it. He is owed nothing.
12:15 PM Aug 8th: Sanford was a bad governor long before his scandal. He couldn’t get along with much of anyone. One of worst GOVs in recent history.
5:47 PM Aug 10th: The summer has been kind to both GOP candidates for GOV, and Chris Christie (NJ) and Bob McDonnell (VA) are now November favorites.
7:06 PM Aug 10th: If Dubya reemerges before 11/09, the GOP could suffer. But unlike Carter, Clinton and even his dad, Bush appears to have truly turned the page
7:43 PM Aug 11th: Just watched ABC, CBS, NBC evening news. All pointed out errors by Obama critics, only ABC’s Jake Tapper cited errors POTUS made at NH event.
8:40 PM Aug 11th: Amusing: Jeb Bush takes himself out of ‘race’ for open FL SEN seat. As though Crist would have picked him. Bush and Crist hate each other.
12:43 PM Aug 12th: The Deeds GOV campaign in VA, trailing badly in the polls, is being shaken up internally. Public announcements won’t reveal the full story.
