9:54 PM Jul 10th: As the author of “A More Perfect Constitution,” I’m delighted that both CA and NY have serious efforts at constitutional revision underway.

5:49 PM Jul 11th: The term “kabuki theater” is overused, but it fits the Sotomayor hearings. The outcome has been known from the day she was announced, but…

5:50 PM Jul 11th: Everybody has to play their role in the hearings that start Monday. The only open question is the number of Republicans who vote for her.

5:54 PM Jul 11th: A good way to lower the temperature of Court appointments would be to limit the term to an absolute, set number of years (say, 15 or 18).

10:15 AM Jul 14th: Any of those calls could have been about an emergency requiring gubernatorial action. This is the height of irresponsibility. Shockingly bad.

12:01 PM Jul 15th: New Rasmussen poll, VA GOV: McDonnell(R)44%,Deeds(D)41%. That’s about right. Highly competitive, neither one close to 50%. Still to be won.

12:03 PM Jul 15th: By contrast, Gov. Jon Corzine (D-NJ), is struggling. Poll after poll shows him deeply unpopular after 1 term and losing to Chris Christie (R).
