Daman Irby earned a B.A. in International Affairs with a concentration in Economics and minor in German from The George Washington University in 1997. Upon graduation he studied economics at the University of Vienna in Austria before working as a researcher at the H. John Heinz III Center in Washington, D.C. Daman joined the Center for Politics in September of 2002 and currently serves as the director of operations.
On behalf of the federal Jamestown 400th Commemoration Commission he directed the creation of and manages "Jamestown - Journey of Democracy," the official education website of the Jamestown 400th anniversary commemoration located at www.JamestownJourney.org. He also planned and directed the International Youth Democracy Summit which was the inaugural conference of the International Conference Series on the Foundations and Future of Democracy. The Summit attracted 300 high school students from 42 states and 22 nations to the grounds of the University of Virginia.
